Not all local pubs can cope with large groups. Here are two that can do so brilliantly, and are famous for their Sunday roasts:
Kings Arms, Georgeham, EX33 1JJ
Combine with a walk on Puttsborough beach. Enjoy the golden sands and watch the surfers.
The Blue Ball Inn, Countisbury, Exmoor, EX35 6NE
Walk to Forland Point. Admire the view across the Bristol Channel and meet some Exmoor ponies.
Book well in advance! These pubs are very popular!
Mark Booker Minibuses – two buses seating 15 each.
Enjoy the Peace & Quiet
Longlands is set in a secluded valley where the only noises are the babble of the stream, leaves rustling in the breeze, the call of pheasants in the day and the hoot of owls at night. Our guests come here to escape the modern world and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Consideration of other guests, neighbours & us!
Sound travels in our secluded valley. We ask that you keep noise to a minimum outside of the Party Barn. Please use earphones to listen to music in the lodges. If you go out for the evening, please be back by 11.30pm.
Use of the Party Barn
After 10.30pm please close the Party Barn doors. Keep music to a volume where normal conversation is possible. We ask that you wash, clean and tidy up after use. There is a dishwasher! Extinguish candles and turn off the lights when you leave! Enjoy your party!
“Memories to treasure forever”
We were a group booking, 8 families in 5 lodges. We had the whole site to ourselves which meant we had sole use of the party barn too. This was perfect for us as we had a communal area for our group in the evenings. We managed to use the facilities in the party barn to feed all 28 of us on 2 nights…perfect!!
There is nothing Bella hasn’t thought of, and if you can think of anything she will go above and beyond to oblige. I was the organiser for our group so having such a huge amount of pressure to get things right was imperative, the reassurance I had from Bella was priceless. She was instant with responses to my emails regarding any concerns I may have had and also providing me with detailed itineraries for a group outing.
I booked a coach pickup from Longlands to The Hunters inn where we walked to Heddon’s mouth then trekked back to the inn where we all had a fantastic meal and a return coach back to Longlands. Much fun was had by all. This trip wouldn’t have been possible without Bella’s advice.
On the first night we ordered from Bella’s home cooked Larder menu, the food was delicious. When we visit again we will be ordering our food from Bella every night.
I am a hardened camper and I have to say I was extremely dubious about the temperature at night, as we were staying at the start of October half term. I needn’t have worried at all, the beds were so warm and cozy the cold was not an issue. Once the log burner got going in the morning the lodge was as warm as toast.
We all had an amazing time so much so we’ve booked a repeat experience next year.
The memories we’ve all made at Longlands will be treasured forever.
