The Long Barn

Located within the original Longlands Farm courtyard, this tastefully converted 5 Star two bedroom holiday cottage sprawls across one level. Neighbouring both our Feasting Barn and Farm Shop it is handily located for stocking up on any food supplies or forgotten items on your arrival.

The views are one of the first things you’ll notice when you start to explore The Long Barn. They are truly stunning, with beautiful ancient woodland and pastures where both sheep graze and a herd of unique Devon Red cattle roam.

For making the most of your stay we recommend time spent on the decked balcony. Drink in the abundant views of pretty wildflower meadows across to Exmoor, with a glimpse of the sea sparkling in the distance at sunset.

The kitchen…

…is where you’ll enjoy the best of the local produce that the area has to offer. It is accessed up a step from the balcony, through French doors to a double aspect, open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with vaulted ceiling and tiled floor. The kitchen also features granite worktops, a two ring induction hob, oven, butler sink, dishwasher, underfloor heating and an ice box fridge.  The living space also has a sumptuous log burner for those colder nights.

A double aspect king size bedroom…

…with vaulted ceiling and views across the hills and landscape, this luxurious king size room features an en suite shower bathroom. In the twin bedroom there is a floor to ceiling picture window from which you can spy our bird feeder – perfectly placed for those children that are fascinated by garden birds.

Home comforts…

…the family bathroom has a bath, handheld shower, basin and heated towel rail. Also tucked away behind two doors in the family bathroom is the washing machine. We don’t want you having to do laundry, but should you feel the need to pop a wash on it’s a short journey from discarding dirty clothes to pressing the start button!

The hallway and beyond…

…from the spacious rear hallway, with tiled floor, you can access a door to the gravelled courtyard by three steps.

Should you need access to the outside world (we think you’ll be too busy relaxing!) WiFi is available throughout the property.

The Long Barn has received a 5 Star VisitEngland Quality Assessment.

Dog Friendly…

We welcome two medium-sized dogs (11kg – 26kg) to the Long Barn and would ask that the following be observed:

Dogs should be kept on a lead when around the Farm Shop, please.

Please clean up after your dog and use the special dog waste bins provided.

No dogs on the beds or in the bedrooms, please. We have hardwood floors in the living area, but the bedrooms are carpeted for your comfort, which makes bedrooms harder to provide a dog-hair-free environment for future guests, who may have allergies.

Please do not leave your dog unaccompanied in the cottage. In a strange place, dogs can get more anxious than at home which can lead to destructive behaviour.

Any damages or soiling caused by your dog during your stay will be your responsibility, and you accept to cover the cost of any repairs or excess cleaning.

Please ensure that you observe the Countryside Code during your stay, particularly in relation to keeping your dog on a lead (mandatory all year around farm animals, and March to July on open country and common land under the new rules).

We want your dogs to have a great holiday, and we understand that great holidays for dogs can include getting wet, muddy and sandy! Please help us keep our beautiful cottage 5* by ensuring that you use the dog washing facilities and towels before allowing your dog back into the cottage. Thank you.
