When you come glamping at Longlands we want you to bring the whole family, including the four legged members! They shouldn’t miss out on a holiday particularly when there are so many dog friendly beaches to run on, gardens to explore, pubs to sit in and so many new friends to make! That’s why we offer dog friendly glamping at Longlands!
Bring the Dogs!
We are happy to welcome up to 2 dogs in each of our lodges. So bring please do bring them with you.
We provide you with a dog bed, towel and bowls. So you’ll have a few less things to have to pack in the car!
Each lodge has a gated deck area that will keep all but the smallest or spriteliest dogs contained. And for those with Houdini escapist tendencies, we have further containment options! Sit back and relax whilst your faithful friends are keep a keen eye on everything from the comfort of the deck. They won’t be disappearing on you the moment your back is turned!
We have also provided a bin under each lodge for your beloved’s productions, plus a hose should they find something delightful to roll in! Our natural aromatherapy shampoo works equally well on dogs as on humans!
Whilst we ask that dogs are kept on leads around the lodges and shop, we have a woodland area where they can be let off the lead to race amongst the leaves and ferns. And there are so many dog friendly beaches and gardens that you could stay for a month and not have time to visit them all!
Our two small sausage dogs, Honey & Mimi, Pam’s large Scottie, Hamish, and my father’s elderly Jack Russell, Bertie, have been hard at work finding dog friendly pubs, checking out each of the dog friendly beaches, patrolling dog friendly gardens and running a thorough search of Longlands’ land to ensure everything is up to scratch for canine chums that come to stay. We provide a full list of dog friendly excursions in our Adventure book or follow this link for more “Dog Friendly Adventures” .
But by far and away the favourite place for the pack of pampered pooches at Longlands is Woolacombe Beach. There are three and a half miles of golden sand on which to run, chase a ball, frolic in the surf, make new friends and have a fantastic time. They love it, and it’s just 20 minutes away from Longlands.
If you have an activity, or book one of the few restaurants that don’t allow dogs, then Trudie – one of the Longlands team – provides a door to door dog-sitting service. Her Cockerpoo, Barney, loves making new friends and showing them the delights of Combe Martin & Ilfracombe, so they aren’t just looked after, they are properly entertained!
