“Longlands is truly outstanding. Unlike anywhere we have ever stayed before.”
“We have made so many wonderful special moments. Real food for the soul. I absolutely love this place and all the effort and details that have gone into making it such a unique experience.”
“There really is something “magical” about Longlands. The ability to switch off, relax and let the stress of the modern working day life pass you by just happens! The luxury touches, comfy beds, superb stay, plus homemade food – WOW!”
“Whilst the lodges offer all the expected practical items – they never compromise on the allure… beautiful bathroom, separate shower room, 3 bedrooms, kitchen / dining and lounge facilities – the feel of the place is very special. It’s the little touches we liked…the stylish decor, fresh tea and coffee, fine linens, fluffy pillows, thick feathery duvets, and warm blankets / cushions for watching the stars!”
“OMG! I love this place. As soon as I got here I felt as though Lynton was home.”

“The perfect rural retreat, a place to unwind, relax and be at one with nature”.
“Beautiful relaxing break here at Longlands… rowing boats, catching rainbow trout, BBQing the fish, toasting marshmallows, playing football…we had so much fun and rest even with 4 kids in tow! Booking for next year!”
“We’ve fallen in love with the area! Walks on Exmoor, horse riding on the beach & sand dunes at Woolacombe, and body boarding. There’s something for everyone. Girls have loved the freedom at Longlands and the doggies loved the full active days! Perfect!”
Longlands lies in a designate Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, overlooking the North Devon coast and on the western border of Exmoor National Park. Read more about our Location

“We love Longlands and the Larder and Bella’s food (especially the Garlic Bread!)”
“The Larder is fantastic, the food incredible (can recommend the lasagne, beef stew and cottage pie) – just wish we’d had room to sample the desserts!”
“The first night we had Lasagne and it was the best Lasagne that I have EVER tasted”
Take time out from cooking and let us cook for you, so you have more time to spend on the beach or paddling around the lake. Learn more about our Larder.
The Hot tub
“We definitely recommend an hour in the hot tub, not that we thought it was possible to feel any more chilled out.”
“The hot tub was fabulous and we loved the view of the sunset.”
“A must here is the hot tub. It poured with rain during our slot but that just made it all the more special.”
“It was magical to sit with a glass of fizz and be cosy in the tub whilst the rain was pouring down.”
Our hot tub is positioned away from the lodges on its own deck overlooking the lake and out towards the setting sun. It is magical in rain or shine! To learn more visit our Hot Tub page.
“Thank you for the most magical weekend! The “Happy Birthday” bunting and bottle of fizz were just what we needed after our journey.”
“Our stay at Longlands was a wedding present from a friend. It also happened to be my 30th birthday. We had a congratulations bunting, cake and bubbly! What a wonderful place to relax, celebrate, explore and do nothing! Five days isn’t really long enough here. Thank you Bella for such a magical holiday.”
“Thank you for an incredible week celebrating our honeymoon! It has been beyond beautiful and we never want to leave! From woodland walks and catching trout for dinner to cosy snuggles in front of the fire and an amazing hot tub, we could not have asked for anything more.”
“Thank you for looking after my (now) husband (!) and Best Man on Friday and for making it so gorgeous for us when we arrived late after our wedding day! It has been a brief stay for us, but we can’t wait to book to return next year for our anniversary!”
“We were a group booking, 8 families in 5 lodges. We had the whole site to ourselves which meant we had sole use of the party barn too. This was perfect for us as we had a communal area for our group in the evenings. We managed to use the facilities in the party barn to feed all 28 of us on 2 nights…perfect!!
There is nothing Bella hasn’t thought of, and if you can think of anything she will go above and beyond to oblige. I was the organiser for our group so having such a huge amount of pressure to get things right was imperative. The reassurance I had from Bella was priceless. She was instant with responses to my emails regarding any concerns I may have had and also providing me with detailed itineraries for a group outing.
I booked a coach pickup from Longlands to The Hunters inn, where we walked to Heddon’s mouth then trekked back to the inn. We had a fantastic meal and a return coach back to Longlands. This trip wouldn’t have been possible without Bella’s advice.
On the first night we ordered from Bella’s home cooked Larder menu. The food was delicious. When we visit again we will be ordering our food from Bella every night.
I am a hardened camper and I have to say I was extremely dubious about the temperature at night, as we were staying at the start of October half term. I needn’t have worried at all, the beds were so warm and cozy the cold was not an issue. Once the log burner got going in the morning the lodge was as warm as toast.
We all had an amazing time so much so we’ve booked a repeat experience next year. The memories we’ve all made at Longlands will be treasured forever.”

“When we arrived I thought what have I done? I saw a tent. It was cold – I hate camping. How wrong I was! This is not camping like I’ve ever experienced. There is hot water, beds, toilets and showers. We have had various weather: wind, rain, sun, but you would never guess because it’s so comfortable. I think everyone should experience this absolute genius! We love it!”
“Despite the high winds of up to 45mph we were tucked up warm and safe in this wonderful tent. I could happily come back every year and wish we could stay longer”
“Arriving on Monday in torrential rain with a dubious Aussie in tow we were a touch nervous. We should have had more faith – Bella was so amazingly warm and welcoming, the tent, fire and lamps so reassuring and relaxing…plus the famous vanilla cheesecake! Us 5 adults have had a riot exploring, eating, rowing. All feel rested, relaxed and slightly tipsy…the only way to play Uno for 3 hours! Thank you for all your amazing attention to detail.”
“What an Adventure! We had such a wonderful time. Who thought a week filled with hail-storms and thunderstorms, below freezing nights and some welcome-sunshine could be so much fun? The stove kept us toasty and warm. The tent made us feel so cosy and safe. Thank you all so much!”
