Easter Glamping at Longlands

A wonderful Easter at Longlands!

The weather was very kind this year, with warm sunny days for the most part.  And our guests all had a wonderful time, so much so that over half booked to return again next year before they even left!  Here are just a few of the lovely comments guests shared in our Lodge Log Books.

Guest Reviews from Easter

“Surprise for Mum’s 60th!”

We had a great bank holiday weekend in our lodge! We absolutely loved the log burner. It made it so cosy. Bella made sure we had everything we wanted and was on hand at all times! It was a surprise for our mum’s 60th and she couldn’t have been happier! The Doherty Family 17th April 2017

“Everything is perfect to the finest detail”

We’ve had a super time here at Longlands. The food was delicious and the larder was very useful and well stocked. The hot tub was fabulous and we loved the view of the sunset. Nothing to fault here. Everything is perfect to the finest detail. Thank you Bella for a wonderful stay at Longlands. We hope for return. The Vernons, 14th April 2017

“A Glamping with Style holiday”

We have truly had a memorable time here at this lovely retreat. The hot tub was amazing and a must for fellow guests. The food in the Larder was delicious! Fabulous setting and a wonderful hostess, Bella has not missed a thing on what is required for a “glamping with style holiday”. We will be back! Kelly & Greg 14th April 2017

“All our expectations more than fulfilled”

Our first, and hopefully not last stay at Longlands. All our expectations were more than fulfilled in this amazing lodge. A lovely warm welcome (including the fizz!) followed up by caring attention from Bella throughout our stay. Hot tub sunset was fantastic and highly recommended! Treated ourselves to some of Bella’s meals and dessert all of which was delicious! Only just scratched the surface of exploring this beautiful part of the world so we will just have to come back! “We will be back”

Bella, we have had such a fab time. The weather has been so kind and the primroses – Wow! So beautiful; reminiscent of childhood. Just so fantastic to walk up to the BBQ area at 8am and water the day unfurl. Our 2 dogs have such such a great time. Once again thank you! Second trip…we will be back! Harpers 7th April 2017

Warm Whatever the Weather

At this time of year sunny days can mean chilly clean nights.  But with our huge wood burnering stove,  hot water bottles, blankets and thick duvets you are sure to be warm and cosy.  Plus we have added thick fur blankets to the King bed, and additional canvas between the bathroom cabins.  This secondary space between the bathroom cabins traps the hot air from the shower cabin and keeps the bedrooms warm.  Whatever the weather you are sure to be warm & cosy in your lodge.

Wonderful Wild Flower Displays

It is worth coming to stay at Longlands over Easter for the displays of wild primroses alone!  The banks are absolutely smothered in the beautiful soft yellow flowers.  It is hard to believe that in some parts of the country they are so rare that you are not permitted to pick them!  Happily there are plenty to spare here, so we are able to add a few sprinkles of them to our salads to make them look all the more appetising & beautiful.

The daffodils are another Longlands flower of note.  Here we have almost exclusively white varieties with only the odd soft yellow allowed in.  The only notable exception is a whole bank of Devon Red Daffodils above the chicken exclosure.  There bright yellow petals and orange trumpets make for quite a display.
